FEATURED ARTIST

Congratulations to Katie for doing an amazing job in art class and earning the featured artist of the month for 2nd grade!! WAY TO GO KATIE!!

Red Licorice Attributes!!!!

We furthered our investigation of properties of matter with an exploration of red licorice!!! Our pieces of licorice were strawberry, red in color, rectangular, thin, long, ridged, squishy, light, sweet, not buoyant, not magnetic, and definitely FLEXIBLE!  As you can see, the kids loved the challenge of bending their pieces of licorice into the most imaginative shapes!!!!

Apple Attributes!!!

We are working on a "Properties of Matter" unit in science class.  We will be observing and recording several different types of matter for the following attributes: color, shape, size, texture, weight, buoyancy, flexibility, smell, and magnetic property.  The first observation was on "Apple Attributes."  We recorded that our apples were red and green, round, small, smooth on the outside, rough on the inside, light, sweet, rigid, and definitely NOT magnetic!!!!!
