Pumpkin predicting part 3

We also worked in some math by counting our pumpkin seeds. We had 554 seeds in our pumpkin!

Pumpkin predicting Part 2

A pumpkin can FLOAT! So exciting!

Pumpkin prediciting

Pumpkin predicting! We recently dissected a pumpkin during science class today! The kids first had to predict whether the pumpkin would sink or float and then predicted the weight, number of ribs, circumference, and number of seeds! Once we recorded our predictions, we investigated with a scale, a meter stick, cord, water and their hands! As you can see we had a blast!

Tater-Tastic Tour of the VanDrese Potato/Dairy Farm

Our class really enjoyed our trip to the VanDrese Dairy/Potato Farm today!  The trip was "SPUD-Tacular"! The kids got to see all that was involved in making milk and potatoes.  They also got to see lots of cows and calves up close!  They were all very well-behaved, and I was so proud of the respect they showed while visiting this farm.  Check out our pictures!

Dancing Raisins!

What will happen when you mix raisins with 7-up? Will the rainsins dance, sink and explode or dissolve?  The kids had to make a hypothesis for if they would dissolve, sink and explode, float, or dance up and down.  Most predicted that they would sink and explode, but they soon found out that the bubbles made the raisins dance up and down! The kids were so excited to see the rainsins dance up and down!
